What Are Ingredient Levels?

In ingredient levels, the goal is to drop the ingredients to the green arrows found on the level. These arrows are normally at the very bottom of the gameboard.

But this is not always the case, and they can be in different spots. Always make sure to check the level and see where the arrows are before you start making matches.

Levels can have cherries, hazelnuts, or both of them. There is no difference between the ingredients, and they function the same.

Tips on How to Beat Ingredient Levels

Make Sure the Bottom of the Level Is Cleared

To be able to drop ingredients, you need to reach the green arrows. So you will need to get rid of all blockers in the way. Remove all licorice locks, chocolate, frosting, etc.

Be careful of blockers like bombs and chocolate. These can blockers directly lead to you losing the level if you ignore them for too long.

Once you have the bottom area cleared, beating the level is often as simple as making one striped candy.

Striped Candies Are Amazing on Ingredient Levels

Remember that striped candies remove all candies and hit blockers in a line.

In early ingredient levels often you can finish the level with one or two striped candies. Striped candy and a wrapped candy is also a winning combination.

  • Get the ingredient above a green arrow.
  • Get a vertical striped candy below the ingredient.
  • Active the striped candy.
  • The ingredient will drop the arrow and leave the level.

Hundreds of years ago, when I first started to play Candy Crush Saga, I found ingredient levels to be very easy because of striped candy.

When to Use Coconut Wheels

I would use coconut wheels on any ingredient level that looks or feels too hard. These boosters are quite common, and they can only be used on ingredient levels.

A well-timed use of a coconut wheel can drop many ingredients at the same time.

On some levels, you will get more than one wheel that will drop during the level. The number you get is different for every level.

Don’t Let the Ingredients Get Stuck!

Don’t let ingredients drop to a place where they can’t go down anymore. They will become stuck. You must do your best to avoid this!

The only way to move stuck ingredients is to make a match with candy near it. Making a match this way is hard to do. You will need a huge amount of luck.

This pictures shows you how to make a match to move a stuck ingredient.

A few levels require you to make a match like this, and these levels are very luck-based and are not very fun.

You can use free switch candies to move ingredients around. But I try to save boosters unless I feel desperate.

Some Levels Are Hard Because There Are Not Enough Moves

One common element found on very hard Candy Crush Saga levels is they don’t have enough moves!

Often in these levels, you won’t be able to clear all the blockers in enough time. Levels like these require lots of luck or boosters.

You are going to need to plan all your moves and get the most value you can out of them.
